\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>We will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Set up users, and assign the users a password.<\/li>\n<li>Assign users to security classes.<\/li>\n<li>Assign a security class to your screens.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For example:\u00a0\u00a0 Joe is assigned to class A, B, and C.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jane is assigned security class A and B only.\u00a0\u00a0 If we have a pump control display assigned to security class B, then both Joe and Jane can access the display.\u00a0 If we have a motor control display assigned to security class C, then only Joe could access this display.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Configure the users<\/h2>\n<p>In the explorer tree, scroll to the bottom to find the System folder.\u00a0\u00a0 Expand the system folder, and you will find &#8220;Users and Groups&#8221;.\u00a0 Expand &#8220;Users and Groups&#8221;, and you will see the &#8220;Users&#8221; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 594\/34;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Configure the display screens<\/h2>\n<p>In this project, we have 3 total screens.\u00a0\u00a0 Main Screen, Pump Control, and Motor Control.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We want Joe to have access to any of these screens.\u00a0\u00a0 If no user is logged in, though, the default user should only have access to the main screen.\u00a0 We will assume that you also have <a href=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/13\/factorytalk-view-navigation\/\">navigation configured<\/a> between the screens.<\/p>\n<p>Open the Main Screen, and add a Login Button and a Logout Button.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Login and Logout buttons can be found under Objects | Advanced.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1159 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/LoginLogout.jpg\" alt=\"LoginLogout buttons\" width=\"475\" height=\"290\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/LoginLogout.jpg 475w, https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/LoginLogout-300x183.jpg 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 475px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/237;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Secure the screens<\/h2>\n<p>Next we need to configure the Pump Control and Motor Control screens to be in a security class.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We will make the &#8220;Pump Control&#8221; screen have a security class of &#8220;B&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The &#8220;Motor Control&#8221; screen will have a security class of &#8220;C&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Open the &#8220;Pump Control&#8221; Display.\u00a0\u00a0 Right-click the Pump Control display and go to &#8220;Display Settings&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You can then assign the security class of &#8220;B&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1161 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DisplaySettings.jpg\" alt=\"Display Settings\" width=\"572\" height=\"427\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DisplaySettings.jpg 572w, https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DisplaySettings-300x224.jpg 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 572px) 100vw, 572px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 572px; that has access to security class A and B only.<\/p>\n<p>Test run your project, and attempt to access a secured display screen.\u00a0 Notice that you will not be able to access the display until you log in.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Test your work.\u00a0\u00a0 When you are logged in as Joe, you can access any screen.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When logged in as Jane, you cannot access the &#8220;Motor Control&#8221;
