{"id":1183,"date":"2017-09-26T17:59:45","date_gmt":"2017-09-26T17:59:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/?p=1183"},"modified":"2022-07-22T13:18:08","modified_gmt":"2022-07-22T13:18:08","slug":"downloading-panvliew-plus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/26\/downloading-panvliew-plus\/","title":{"rendered":"Downloading to a Panvliew Plus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introduction to&nbsp;Downloading to a Panvliew Plus terminal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a project is created and tested, the next step is to downloading to the Panelview Plus terminal unless you wish to run the application on your desktop. &nbsp;If you are unfamiliar with how to start a project, read up on how to <a href=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/13\/factorytalk-view-project\/\">Create the FactoryTalk Project.<\/a><\/p><div id=\"bryce-459136007\" class=\"bryce-afterfirst bryce-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8316758073402323\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8316758073402323\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7728240895\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we download, you must first identify the revision of the Panelview Plus. &nbsp; &nbsp; Generally, we can get this revision from the configuration screen. &nbsp;If you do not have a &#8220;Shutdown&#8221; or &#8220;Configuration Mode&#8221; button, press the square in the lower left corner as the terminal boots up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Configuration screen, go to Terminal Settings | System Information | About FractoryTalk View ME Station. &nbsp; Be sure to write down the Revision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will also need the IP address. &nbsp; To get the IP address, go to Terminal Settings, | Networks and Communications | Network Connections | Adapter Adapters, and press F2 to get (or set) the IP address. &nbsp;In our case, the IP address is 192.168.0.123<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial Considerations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you start, be sure to write down the revision of your panelview plus terminal.&nbsp; &nbsp;You will find this on the configuration screen of the panelview plus terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because we must have the correct resolution in FactoryTalk View ME, go to &#8220;Project Settings&#8221;.&nbsp; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 702\/211;\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>At this point, go to FactoryTalk View Enterprise (for communication), be sure the &#8220;Runtime&#8221; path has been configured.&nbsp; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 298\/80;\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Next, we must name the runtime. &nbsp; We will leave this at default, and let it assume the name of our studio application. &nbsp; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 796\/418;\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Troubleshooting Tips:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t see your panelview while browsing, there are a couple things to check.&nbsp; Be sure you are in the same subnet as the panelview plus terminal.&nbsp; Usually, this means that the first three octets of your computer should match the panelview plus (ie. 192.168.1.x).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find the IP address of your computer by going to the windows command prompt.&nbsp; Type &#8220;ipconfig&#8221;.&nbsp; If you are in a different subnet than the panelview, you can go to &#8220;Control Panel&#8221; in Windows to change your IP address.&nbsp; Just be sure it doesn&#8217;t conflict with another IP address on the subnet you change it to.&nbsp; Also, if you prefer to keep the original IP address, you can simply go to &#8220;Advanced&#8221; under ipv4 properties.&nbsp; You can ad an additional IP that is in the proper subnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you type &#8220;ipconfig&#8221; at the command prompt, and your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, then the first three octets must match.\u00a0 As I said before, this is usually the case.\u00a0 However, if your subnet mask is 255.255.0.0, only the first two octets must match.\u00a0 On the other hand, if it&#8217;s 255.0.0.0 then only the first octet has to match the panelview terminal.\u00a0 If it&#8217;s anything other than 255, or 0, then it&#8217;s easiest to break everything down to binary to see how it works.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/23\/what-is-a-subnet-mask\/\">Check out this post.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obvioulsy, double check your connection to be sure you are plugged into the same network as the  Panelview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can try to &#8220;Ping&#8221; your panelview from the command prompt to verify connectivity.&nbsp; (ie:&nbsp; ping 192.168.0.23).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Downloading to the Panelview Terminal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you click &#8220;Download&#8221;, you will see a progress bar.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"744\" height=\"172\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/progressbar.png\" alt=\"Progress Bar\" class=\"wp-image-1188 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/progressbar.png 744w, https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/progressbar-300x69.png 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 744px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 299\/144;\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>After you are finished, please be very patient. &nbsp; It takes a while for the Panelview terminal to boot up after a download. &nbsp;
