You can list all conditions that are required to be met prior to equipment starting.   If you equipment does not start, simply look down the list, and see what condition is not made, and repair it.  Other reasons might be for reporting, and calculations.  Be aware that RSLinx Lite will not work for this.   I will be using RSLinx Professional.  This is really just RSLinx Lite with an activation installed.<\/p><div id=\"bryce-353883575\" class=\"bryce-afterfirst bryce-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8316758073402323\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8316758073402323\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7728240895\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verify Communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we start, let&#8217;s verify communication to the processor in RSLinx.    If RSLinx has not been configured, you will need to create a driver.   In this case, I&#8217;ve set up the DF1 driver. The topic is simply a shortcut to your processor.  Newer version of RSLinx might already create a topic for you, but I&#8217;ll walk through the procedure of creating this manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create the Topic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, we&#8217;ll click DDE\/OPC in the Menu bar, and choose &#8220;Topic Configuration&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"498\" height=\"179\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/TopicConfiguration.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1875 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/TopicConfiguration.png 498w, https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/TopicConfiguration-300x108.png 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 498px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 498\/179;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Secondly, we&#8217;ll create a new topic, and relate the new name &#8220;MyTopic&#8221; to the path of your processor.   Be sure both the topic name that you create, and your processor are both highlighted at the same time.   If you wish to change the update time to your spreadsheet, this can be done from the &#8220;Data Collection&#8221; Tab.  This defaults to 1 second. Now, you are ready to paste this into a spreadsheet.
