In this post, we will write a simple program to control lights from many locations.  We will also set up the ControlLogix three-way switching to end up in the correct position.  In other words,  if a switch is up at any location, you must move it to the down position to turn the light off.  For example:   Assume that a switch is down, and a light is on.  In this case, you must move the switch up, and then back down to shut off the light.   This will ensure  the switch ends up in the correct position to reflect the state of the light.  Using this method, it&#8217;s possible to add as many different switch locations as you will ever need.<\/p><div id=\"bryce-2903157613\" class=\"bryce-afterfirst bryce-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8316758073402323\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8316758073402323\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7728240895\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Set up the I\/O and Create Tags<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First add the I\/O Modules to the Controller Organizer window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"270\" height=\"60\" data-src=\"https:\/\/bryceautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/threeio.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2248 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 270px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 270\/60;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, set up the aliases to make our programming a bit easier.  We need to add a tag for some oneshots as well.  Another tag we will add is an EvenFlag, which is BOOL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Write the Logic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, we will write the logic.   I will explain each line of code as we go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At first, if any switch goes from false to true, we will set the event flag.   Notice we are using the OneShots as to not hold the flag ON. If any switch drops out, unlatch the event flag.   As before, we do not want to hold this flag off, so we need the ONS instructions. Although you could use the real world output instead of the EventFlag, I like to have this additional step.
