The Sixth Day of Creation

Introduction to the Sixth Day of Creation

SixthDay

Genesis 1:24-31 states:  “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.   And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.   And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.   And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.   And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.   And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.   And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. ”

Mammals and Man

Here God created all of the other mammals.  This would have been cattle, and those other mammals that thrive on land.  God gave man dominion over the other animals.   We are intelligent beings.  God blessed them with the ability to multiply, and commanded them to do so.  The mammals had herbs to eat.  God made man in his own image.   Man was created perfect, and had the fruits and vegetables to eat.  There was no need at this time for man to eat animals.

Image of God

Man was created in God’s image.    God cannot condone sin…  He condemns it.  At this time there was no need for man to eat meat.   There was no death.  Death did not set in until sin occurred in the Garden of Eden.  Once Adam ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he had a blood poisoning.    That blood poisoning is what caused death to happen.   Man could no longer live forever.  From that point all men were destined for Hell unless there was a remedy.

God’s Remedy

In the old testament, men would make sacrifices.   This was for the purpose of confessing, and covering their sin.  The problem is that was not a perfect sacrifice.   They had to continuously provide sacrifices.  That is why God sent Jesus, who was the perfect sacrifice.

Think about building a machine that you send off to another state.  When something goes wrong with that machine, someone has to go to fix it.   That is similar to what Christ did for us.  Christ came to this earth, and shed his blood for the remission of our sin.

To accept the gift that Christ gave us, we just need to repent of our sin truly, and accept Christ into our heart.  Religion will not get a person to heaven.   Your own works cannot get you into heaven.   It’s only God who can get us into heaven, and spare us from Hell.

Repent of your sins, and accept Christ into your heart today!
